Network and Camera Work in Van Nuys

Van Nuys is where I’m based, so this is the one area where I’m rarely more than a short drive from the job. That matters when a router dies on a Monday morning or a camera stops recording and you want it looked at without waiting for a far-off schedule.

Houses on slabs, garages turned into offices

Much of Van Nuys is single-story ranch houses and older stucco homes built on concrete slabs. There is no crawlspace to run cable through, so I work from the attic. I drop cable down inside the wall to a clean jack, and where a wall is solid or the roof is too low to crawl, I plan another path before I cut anything. Plenty of people here have converted a garage or back room into an office, and those rooms usually have the worst Wi-Fi in the house. A wired line out to them fixes it for good.

Shops and small offices along the boulevards

Van Nuys Boulevard, Victory and Sepulveda have a lot of small storefronts, workshops and one-room offices. These places usually need the same few things: a tidy network closet or shelf, a point-of-sale or office PC that stays connected, and cameras that cover the door, the counter and the back lot. I set up the switch and router, label the cable ends, and write down what plugs into what so the next person is not guessing.

Businesses near the airport often have a warehouse or hangar-style space with long cable runs. I can plan those with a proper switch at each end rather than stretching one run too far.

Jobs that fit here

  • A back bedroom or garage office with no signal
  • Cameras for a driveway, side gate or the back of a shop
  • A slow connection that turns out to be an old router or a bad cable
  • A laptop that will not start or has gotten slow

Start with a walkthrough. I look at the space, you show me where you want things, and you get a plan and a quote before I touch anything.

What I do in Van Nuys

  • Ethernet wiring

I pull cable through the walls and attic to the rooms you pick, finish it at clean wall jacks, and bring every run back to one central spot.

  • Security cameras

Wired cameras mounted where they cover what matters, a recorder set up to keep footage, and viewing on your phone.

  • Network troubleshooting

Internet that crawls, devices that keep dropping off, or a setup someone else left behind. I'll find the problem and fix it.

  • Servers and network gear

Racks, switches, routers and home or office servers installed, configured and cabled neatly.

  • Wi-Fi coverage

Access points wired back to your network so the signal reaches the rooms that used to be dead zones.

  • Laptop and PC repair

A computer that's slow, won't start, throws errors, or just isn't acting right. I'll track down what's wrong and get it running again.

  4. Hand-off

Before I leave, I show you how to use the camera app, the Wi-Fi and anything else I set up.
