Shops and Apartments in Panorama City

Panorama City is close to my Van Nuys base, a short ride up Van Nuys Boulevard or Roscoe. The area has a strong commercial core, and I picture the work here in two groups: storefronts and apartments.

Storefronts along the boulevards

Van Nuys Boulevard and Roscoe have small shops, clinics, food stands and service counters. The needs are usually specific. The point-of-sale system has to stay online. A camera has to cover the front door and the register. The back door and the lot need a view after dark. I mount wired cameras at those spots, set up the recorder and make sure you can open the footage from a phone.

Many of these buildings are older single-story commercial spaces with a drop ceiling or a shallow roof space. That makes cable runs straightforward once I see what is above the tiles. I label both ends of every run.

Apartments and multi-family housing

The area has many apartment buildings and townhouses. Inside a rental, I work with what is there: a better router in a better spot, an access point cabled with a neat run along the baseboard, and a clear explanation for the building manager if I need to touch anything shared. Families with several people online at once benefit most from fixing one thing, which is where the router sits.

When it is not the network

A slow connection is sometimes a computer problem. I look at both. If a PC or laptop is acting up, we can sort that out on the same visit.

What to expect

I come out, look at the space and ask what is going wrong. You get a plan and a quote before work starts. After the install, I test everything with you there and show you how to use it.

Call or write, and tell me whether this is a shop, a home or an apartment.

What I do in Panorama City

  • Security cameras

Wired cameras mounted where they cover what matters, a recorder set up to keep footage, and viewing on your phone.

  • Network troubleshooting

Internet that crawls, devices that keep dropping off, or a setup someone else left behind. I'll find the problem and fix it.

  • Ethernet wiring

I pull cable through the walls and attic to the rooms you pick, finish it at clean wall jacks, and bring every run back to one central spot.

  • Servers and network gear

Racks, switches, routers and home or office servers installed, configured and cabled neatly.

  • Wi-Fi coverage

Access points wired back to your network so the signal reaches the rooms that used to be dead zones.

  • Laptop and PC repair

A computer that's slow, won't start, throws errors, or just isn't acting right. I'll track down what's wrong and get it running again.
