Studio Rooms and Bungalows in North Hollywood

North Hollywood has a mix I enjoy working in. There are small post-production shops and edit suites, theaters and cafes around the NoHo Arts District, and a lot of older bungalows and courtyard apartments in the streets around Lankershim and Magnolia.

Post houses and creative shops

A small post-production room needs a quiet, dependable network more than anything. I wire the edit bays back to a switch, set up shared storage or a server if you need one, and label every cable so a new hire does not have to trace them by hand. If your machines only slow down at certain times of day, I look at the network first before anyone blames the computers.

Older homes and apartments

Many houses here were built in the 1930s through the 1950s. Some are small stucco bungalows with plaster walls and a shallow attic. Others have been added onto over the years, and the wiring in the walls is a patchwork. I trace what is already there, and I run new cable where it makes sense. In courtyard apartments and multi-unit buildings, I work within the unit and check with the landlord or HOA before I drill into shared walls.

Storefronts and security

Lankershim and Magnolia have storefronts that are open late and busy on weekends. I set up cameras for the entrance, the register and the alley behind the building. Rear lots and alley doors need good night coverage, and I check the view after dark before I call a job done.

Not far from home

North Hollywood is a short trip east and a bit north from Van Nuys. Call or send a message, and I will set up a walkthrough.

What I do in North Hollywood

  • Servers and network gear

Racks, switches, routers and home or office servers installed, configured and cabled neatly.

  • Ethernet wiring

I pull cable through the walls and attic to the rooms you pick, finish it at clean wall jacks, and bring every run back to one central spot.

  • Security cameras

Wired cameras mounted where they cover what matters, a recorder set up to keep footage, and viewing on your phone.

  • Wi-Fi coverage

Access points wired back to your network so the signal reaches the rooms that used to be dead zones.

  • Laptop and PC repair

A computer that's slow, won't start, throws errors, or just isn't acting right. I'll track down what's wrong and get it running again.

  • Network troubleshooting

Internet that crawls, devices that keep dropping off, or a setup someone else left behind. I'll find the problem and fix it.

  4. Hand-off

Before I leave, I show you how to use the camera app, the Wi-Fi and anything else I set up.
