Burbank Production Offices and Homes
Burbank runs on media. Within a few miles you have major studio lots, post houses, animation shops and a lot of freelancers working from the back bedroom. My work is for the small outfits and individuals who orbit them: the independent editor, the two-person post shop, the production office with a dozen desks.
Small production and edit rooms
A two or three person edit shop needs a network that moves big files without drama. I wire each workstation to a switch, set up shared storage or a small server, and lay out the rack so it is not a nest of cable. I also set up network drives that back up on a schedule. If you cannot say with confidence where your project files live right now, that is usually the first thing I sort out.
Homes in Magnolia Park and around
The streets near Magnolia Boulevard and Burbank Boulevard are full of 1920s through 1950s houses: small stucco bungalows, Spanish-style places with plaster walls and mid-century ranches. Plaster is hard on Wi-Fi, and older attics are shallow, so I look at the real path for cable before I quote it. In the hills at the south end of town, houses sit higher and the layout gets more complicated, with stairs and split levels.
Downtown and the storefronts
San Fernando Boulevard and the downtown core have small restaurants, shops and offices. I set up networks that stay on during the dinner rush and cameras that watch the entrance and the alley.
Apartments and condos
Burbank has a lot of newer condo and apartment buildings. In those, I work inside the unit and check with the HOA or manager on anything that touches shared space. A wired access point and a good router fix most complaints without drilling anything.
Close by
Burbank is straight east of Van Nuys, close enough that a visit does not take much of a day. Message me with what you work on, and I will come out to see the setup.
What I do in Burbank
Servers and network gear
Racks, switches, routers and home or office servers installed, configured and cabled neatly.
Ethernet wiring
I pull cable through the walls and attic to the rooms you pick, finish it at clean wall jacks, and bring every run back to one central spot.
Security cameras
Wired cameras mounted where they cover what matters, a recorder set up to keep footage, and viewing on your phone.
Wi-Fi coverage
Access points wired back to your network so the signal reaches the rooms that used to be dead zones.
Laptop and PC repair
A computer that's slow, won't start, throws errors, or just isn't acting right. I'll track down what's wrong and get it running again.
Network troubleshooting
Internet that crawls, devices that keep dropping off, or a setup someone else left behind. I'll find the problem and fix it.
