Computer and Network Help in Northridge

Northridge has a large university next door, and that shapes the kind of calls that make sense here. Students, instructors and staff have laptops that break at bad moments, and the rental houses and apartments around CSUN rarely have decent Wi-Fi.

Laptop and PC trouble

When a laptop will not start, runs slowly or shows an error, I look at it, work out what is wrong and tell you before I do anything costly. I would rather say a machine is worth fixing, or is not, than leave you guessing. I can also set up a new computer and move your files across.

Shared houses and rentals

Houses near campus often have four or five people on one connection, a router the landlord left behind and weak coverage in the bedrooms. I can set up a better router and wired access points, with the landlord’s permission if cable needs to go into a wall. If you cannot drill, I use cable paths along existing edges and tell you what is realistic.

Family homes

Away from campus, Northridge is largely 1950s and 1960s ranch houses and some newer tracts, with attics I can work from. Older stucco houses absorb signal, and a wired access point at the far end of the house makes a bigger difference than a stronger router.

Shops and offices

Around Reseda Boulevard and Devonshire Street, there are small clinics, restaurants and offices. I set up networks that stay up, along with cameras for the front and rear doors.

Distance

Northridge is a drive northwest of Van Nuys, up along Reseda or Balboa. I plan a visit around the walkthrough so we can look at the house and get the quote moving.
