BIT BY BIT IT

Temple City Family Homes and Local Shops

Temple City is mostly a family town. Rows of single-story homes sit on quiet streets, with small shops and offices along Las Tunas Drive and Rosemead Boulevard. When I think about the work here, I think about houses that have been lived in for a long time and are now being asked to do more than they were built for.

Ranch homes with a lot going on

Most of the homes are single-story ranches and bungalows, many with an added room or a converted garage. They tend to hold several people and a lot of devices. A common request is something simple: the TV streams badly, the back room has no Wi-Fi, and the printer will not stay connected. I answer all three by wiring the main points and putting an access point where the signal is thin.

Additions and converted garages

Added rooms are often the worst spots for Wi-Fi, because the walls changed and the distance grew. I run a cable from the main part of the house through the attic or along the garage wall to a jack in the new room, then add an access point there when it makes sense.

Home businesses

Plenty of people here run a small business from home, from bookkeeping to online selling to tutoring. A quiet, stable network matters, and so does having a place to put the router, the switch and any backup drive. I set that up in a closet or garage shelf, labeled and neat.

Small shops on Las Tunas

For a small shop, I wire the register and printer, set up a guest network that stays separate, and mount cameras at the front door and back entrance.

Computers

If the family PC or a laptop is slow or will not start, I can take a look as part of the visit.

Between Arcadia and San Gabriel

Temple City is a long way east of Van Nuys, between Arcadia and San Gabriel. Message me with what you need, and I will set up a walkthrough.

What I do in Temple City

  • Ethernet wiring

I pull cable through the walls and attic to the rooms you pick, finish it at clean wall jacks, and bring every run back to one central spot.

  • Wi-Fi coverage

Access points wired back to your network so the signal reaches the rooms that used to be dead zones.

  • Network troubleshooting

Internet that crawls, devices that keep dropping off, or a setup someone else left behind. I'll find the problem and fix it.

  • Security cameras

Wired cameras mounted where they cover what matters, a recorder set up to keep footage, and viewing on your phone.

  • Servers and network gear

Racks, switches, routers and home or office servers installed, configured and cabled neatly.

  • Laptop and PC repair

A computer that's slow, won't start, throws errors, or just isn't acting right. I'll track down what's wrong and get it running again.

How a job goes

  1. Walkthrough

I come out, look at the space, and you show me where you want connections and cameras.

  2. Plan and quote

You get a clear plan of what goes where and a price before any work starts.

  3. Install

Cable gets run, gear gets mounted, and everything is tested room by room.

  4. Hand-off

Before I leave, I show you how to use the camera app, the Wi-Fi and anything else I set up.
