BIT BY BIT IT

Santa Clarita Homes and Business Parks

Santa Clarita is spread out, built mostly in recent decades, and full of two-story homes in planned communities. Nearly everything I would do here is shaped by that: newer stucco houses with large attics, long floor plans and a lot of people working from home.

Two stories, one router

The typical newer home here has the router downstairs, where the cable came in, and the bedrooms and office upstairs. The signal barely makes it. With roomy attics and straight walls, I can run wired access points to both floors. Often the work is quick compared with older houses, because I can walk across the attic and drop cable into each wall.

What the builder left behind

Some homes have structured wiring panels in the garage or a closet. I check whether the cable is real ethernet or coax, whether it is connected at both ends and whether it can be used. If it can, I save you running new cable. If it cannot, I tell you.

HOA communities

Many neighborhoods have HOA rules about exterior changes. I ask before mounting a camera on the front of the house, and I keep hardware at the eave line and cable out of sight. Most of the time a camera at the door and one on the garage are fine.

Home offices and media rooms

A dedicated wired line to the office, another to the TV and console, and a wired access point in the middle keep the main network free for phones and tablets.

Valencia and Newhall

Valencia’s business parks and the older storefronts in Newhall hold small offices, clinics and shops. I set up the network closet, wired desks and cameras on entrances. For a warehouse-style unit, I plan cable along the roof structure.

North on the 5

Santa Clarita is a good drive north of Van Nuys, up the 5 or the 14, so I schedule the walkthrough to cover the whole property in one trip. Write or call to start.

What I do in Santa Clarita

  • Ethernet wiring

I pull cable through the walls and attic to the rooms you pick, finish it at clean wall jacks, and bring every run back to one central spot.

  • Security cameras

Wired cameras mounted where they cover what matters, a recorder set up to keep footage, and viewing on your phone.

  • Wi-Fi coverage

Access points wired back to your network so the signal reaches the rooms that used to be dead zones.

  • Servers and network gear

Racks, switches, routers and home or office servers installed, configured and cabled neatly.

  • Laptop and PC repair

A computer that's slow, won't start, throws errors, or just isn't acting right. I'll track down what's wrong and get it running again.

  • Network troubleshooting

Internet that crawls, devices that keep dropping off, or a setup someone else left behind. I'll find the problem and fix it.

How a job goes

  1. Walkthrough

I come out, look at the space, and you show me where you want connections and cameras.

  2. Plan and quote

You get a clear plan of what goes where and a price before any work starts.

  3. Install

Cable gets run, gear gets mounted, and everything is tested room by room.

  4. Hand-off

Before I leave, I show you how to use the camera app, the Wi-Fi and anything else I set up.
