BIT BY BIT IT

Agoura Hills Ranches, Canyons and Offices

Agoura Hills sits at the western edge of the area I serve, where the suburbs of the Valley give way to the Santa Monica Mountains and open land. Properties here are often larger, and many have horses, barns or workshops.

Canyon and ranch properties

Houses on rural roads in Old Agoura and the canyon streets tend to have long driveways and outbuildings. A router in the house will not reach the barn. I run a cable in conduit when I can, or set up a wireless link when I cannot, and then add a wired access point in the outbuilding. Cameras for the gate and the driveway matter here, because the nearest neighbor may be some distance away.

Newer homes in town

Closer to Agoura Road and Kanan Road, the housing is largely newer two-story homes. Attics are usable, walls are straight and floor plans are big. That makes it easy to wire an access point on each floor and a hard line to each home office. I check what is already in the walls before running anything new.

Fire season and outdoor gear

Properties in this area are hot and dry in summer. Outdoor cameras should be rated for heat and sun, and I mount them under the eaves out of direct exposure. Keeping a backup of important files off site or on an external drive is a sensible habit, and I can set that up.

Offices on Agoura Road

Small offices, medical practices and light commercial space along Agoura Road need a tidy network closet, wired desks and Wi-Fi that works for staff and guests. I set that up and leave a diagram.

Out past Calabasas

Agoura Hills is a long drive west from Van Nuys along the 101. I schedule visits so a single trip covers the walkthrough. Message me with what is on the property.

What I do in Agoura Hills

  • Wi-Fi coverage

Access points wired back to your network so the signal reaches the rooms that used to be dead zones.

  • Security cameras

Wired cameras mounted where they cover what matters, a recorder set up to keep footage, and viewing on your phone.

  • Ethernet wiring

I pull cable through the walls and attic to the rooms you pick, finish it at clean wall jacks, and bring every run back to one central spot.

  • Servers and network gear

Racks, switches, routers and home or office servers installed, configured and cabled neatly.

  • Laptop and PC repair

A computer that's slow, won't start, throws errors, or just isn't acting right. I'll track down what's wrong and get it running again.

  • Network troubleshooting

Internet that crawls, devices that keep dropping off, or a setup someone else left behind. I'll find the problem and fix it.

How a job goes

  1. Walkthrough

I come out, look at the space, and you show me where you want connections and cameras.

  2. Plan and quote

You get a clear plan of what goes where and a price before any work starts.

  3. Install

Cable gets run, gear gets mounted, and everything is tested room by room.

  4. Hand-off

Before I leave, I show you how to use the camera app, the Wi-Fi and anything else I set up.
